Paita / Sweater

Tämä paita on neulottu 5,5 millin puikoilla. Silmukoita oli vain "noin" 118, kuten olen kirjannut muistiin. Kauluksessa silmukoita puolestaan oli "noin" 44-46. Lanka oli todella riittoisaa Marks & Kattensin Teddyä (70% akryylia, 17% villaa, 13% polyesteria). Lankaa kului vain 6½ kerää, vaikka kerässä on vain 75 metriä lankaa. Ostin tuon langan joskus  kauan sitten Tapion Kaupasta 20 kerän tukkupakkauksena. Myin eteenpäin muutaman kerän ja itselleni jäi vielä 7½ kerää myöhempään käyttöön!

This sweater was knitted with a 5,5 mm circular needle. I had only "about" 118 sts. I don't know why there's "about" in my  notes! In the collar there are "about" (again!) 44-46 sts. The yarn was Marks & Kattens Teddy (70% AcrylCourtelle, 17% Wool, 13% Polyester). I used only 6½ yarn balls even if there's only 75 meters in a ball. I bought the yarn from an online shop Tapion Kauppa in a wholesale package of 20 balls. I sold a few yarnballs and I still have 7½ for the future plans.

Kaulaliina / Scarf

Tein tällaisen kaulaliinan Novita Rose Mohair Luxista. Silmukoita on vain 40 ja lankaa kului 95 grammaa. Kaulaliinassa on molemminpuolinen palmikkokuvio (siis se näyttää samalta huivin molemmin puolin).

I made this scarf a while ago of Novita Rose Mohair Lux. There are 40 sts and I used 95 grams of yarn. The scarf has a reversible cable pattern (meaning the cable is similar on both sides of the scarf). I'll add the instructions later in my Craftsy shop - I'll add the link here, too.

Kolmiohuivi / Triangle Shawl

Tein tällaisen jämälankahuivin syys-lokakuun vaihteessa. Lankaa oli aluksi 259,8 grammaa ja lopuksi vielä jäi 82,5 g, joten pikaisella laskutoimituksella huiviin kului 177,3 grammaa. Lankoina mm. Marks & Kattens Peluche 18 30920 (sekä tuota punaista että mustaa, en tiedä, kumman numero tuo on) ja SandnesGarnin mustaa Kitteniä ja myös tuota värikkäämpää. Onko tuo nyt sitten lilaa, pinkkiä, fuchsiaa vai mitä??? Puikot 5,5 mm.

I knitted this triangle shawl in Sept-Oct. I used about 177 grams of left-over yarns, including Marks & Kattens Peluche (both black and purple) and SandnesGarn's Kitten (both black and purple). Circular needle: 5,5 mm.

Valkoiset kämmekkäät / White fingerless gloves

Nämä valkoiset kämmekkäät on tehty ihan omasta päästä keksityn kuvion mukaan. Silmukoita on 48. Kämmekkäät on neulottu "ylösalaisin" eli sormien päästä kohti rannetta. Lankana on Katia Brisa, numero 1 16603, ja lankaa kului n. 56 g. Ohje on myynnissä englanninkielisenä täällä, mutta voin kyllä tehdä sen myös suomeksi, jos on kysyntää (viestiä kommentteihin).

These white fingerless gloves were knitted according to the lace pattern I made myself. There are 48 stitches. These gloves were knitted "upside down" - from finger part towards the wrist. Yarn: Katia Brisa, 1 16603, and I used about 56 grams of it. The pattern is for sale here. I hope the link works...

Ateneum

Tuli vierailtua pitkästä aikaa Helsingissä vajaa viikko sitten. Vierailun varsinainen syy oli Ateneumin Helene Schjerfbeck -näyttely, mutta aikaa jäi myös pieneen turistikierrokseen. Viimeksi kamera on ollut Helsingissä mukana vuonna 1995, joten oli jo aikakin ottaa kunnon digikuvia. Vanhat kuvat ovat jo lievästi väriviallisia. Ateneumissa kuvia ei saanut ottaa, joten sellaisia ei ole esiteltäväksi. Schjerfbeckin "uusin" teos, se juuri löytynyt, oli kyllä upea. Mielestäni parempi kuin se, jonka alta teos löytyi.

Schjerfbeck-saleissa oli ihmisiä tungokseen asti - jälkeenpäin tuli mieleen, että mitähän sielläkin olisi jossain hätätilanteessa tapahtunut. Ainakin olisi tullut täysi paniikki varmasti. Eteenpäin kun ei päässyt normaalissakaan tilanteessa hitaasti kävellen. Muissa saleissa sen sijaan oli rauhallista. Sain ihastella aivan yksin Taistelevia metsoja ja Albert Edelfeltin taideteoksia. Etenkin Edelfeltin "Lapsen ruumissaatto" oli upea. Piti oikein läheltä katsoa, sillä ihmishahmot näyttivät todella luonnollisilta, lähes valokuvilta - etenkin se mummo. Myös Edelfeltin "Leikkiviä poikia rannalla" ja "Pariisin Luxembourgin puistossa" jäivät erityisesti mieleen.

After a long time I visited Helsinki last week. The main reason for the visit was the exhibition of Helene Schjerfbeck in the art museum Ateneum. I also had time to make a small touristic tour in the centre of the city. Last time I had a camera with me in Helsinki was back in 1995 so it was time to take some proper photos. Those old photos have already some really weird colors. You can't take photos in Ateneum so obviously I don't have any to show from there. The "newest" painting by Schjerfbeck was great, I think better than the one under which it was found. It seems that their "English" button doesn't change the language from Finnish to English on that page but at least you can see the picture of the painting when you click the "newest" link.

Schjerfbeck rooms were totally too crowded with people. Afterwards I started to think what would've happened if there was some sort of a catastrophe inside. At least people would've been in panic as you could hardly move in the crowd even though you were walking normally - not to mention if you start to run towards the doors. The other rooms were quiet. I was all alone admiring the "Taistelevat metsot" painting by Ferdinand von Wright and the paintings of Albert Edelfelt. Especially Edelfelt's "Lapsen ruumissaatto" was amazing. I had to go really close to see the amazing people in the painting. They looked so real, almost like photos, and especially the grandmother. Also Edelfelt's "Leikkiviä poikia rannalla" and "Pariisin Luxembourgin puistossa" were some of the paintings that I especially remember. But there were a lot of great paintings and sculptures.
