Tuli vierailtua pitkästä aikaa Helsingissä vajaa viikko sitten. Vierailun varsinainen syy oli Ateneumin
Helene Schjerfbeck -näyttely, mutta aikaa jäi myös pieneen turistikierrokseen. Viimeksi kamera on ollut Helsingissä mukana vuonna 1995, joten oli jo aikakin ottaa kunnon digikuvia. Vanhat kuvat ovat jo lievästi väriviallisia. Ateneumissa kuvia ei saanut ottaa, joten sellaisia ei ole esiteltäväksi. Schjerfbeckin "
uusin" teos, se juuri löytynyt, oli kyllä upea. Mielestäni parempi kuin se, jonka alta teos löytyi.
Schjerfbeck-saleissa oli ihmisiä tungokseen asti - jälkeenpäin tuli mieleen, että mitähän sielläkin olisi jossain hätätilanteessa tapahtunut. Ainakin olisi tullut täysi paniikki varmasti. Eteenpäin kun ei päässyt normaalissakaan tilanteessa hitaasti kävellen. Muissa saleissa sen sijaan oli rauhallista. Sain ihastella aivan yksin
Taistelevia metsoja ja Albert Edelfeltin taideteoksia. Etenkin Edelfeltin "
Lapsen ruumissaatto" oli upea. Piti oikein läheltä katsoa, sillä ihmishahmot näyttivät todella luonnollisilta, lähes valokuvilta - etenkin se mummo. Myös Edelfeltin "
Leikkiviä poikia rannalla" ja "
Pariisin Luxembourgin puistossa" jäivät erityisesti mieleen.

After a long time I visited Helsinki last week. The main reason for the visit was the
exhibition of Helene Schjerfbeck in the art museum Ateneum. I also had time to make a small touristic tour in the centre of the city. Last time I had a camera with me in Helsinki was back in 1995 so it was time to take some proper photos. Those old photos have already some really weird colors. You can't take photos in Ateneum so obviously I don't have any to show from there. The "
newest" painting by Schjerfbeck was great, I think better than the one under which it was found. It seems that their "English" button doesn't change the language from Finnish to English on that page but at least you can see the picture of the painting when you click the "newest" link.
Schjerfbeck rooms were totally too crowded with people. Afterwards I started to think what would've happened if there was some sort of a catastrophe inside. At least people would've been in panic as you could hardly move in the crowd even though you were walking normally - not to mention if you start to run towards the doors. The other rooms were quiet. I was all alone admiring the "
Taistelevat metsot" painting by Ferdinand von Wright and the paintings of Albert Edelfelt. Especially Edelfelt's "
Lapsen ruumissaatto" was amazing. I had to go really close to see the amazing people in the painting. They looked so real, almost like photos, and especially the grandmother. Also Edelfelt's "
Leikkiviä poikia rannalla" and "
Pariisin Luxembourgin puistossa" were some of the paintings that I especially remember. But there were a lot of great paintings and sculptures.
